Our Love Story
Matt and Poi first met in Washington, DC during the summer of 2022. What seemed like another commute home after a busy work day would mark the beginning of their romance.
Matt first noticed Poi on the metro train and couldn't keep his eyes off her. As fate would have it, they both exited the train at the same stop. Matt seized the moment and introduced himself. As they continued their conversation, they both realized they had been neighbors for quite some time.
After several months of talking and trying to keep him at bay, Poi finally agreed to meet Matt for dinner. Before she knew it, this southern gentleman was waiting at her doorstep with a bouquet of flowers to take her on what would be her very last First Date.

transportation
Transportation will be provided to all guests staying at Villa Catignano to and from the church ceremony the day of the wedding.
The Villa has parking available should you decide to rent a car during your trip. Please inform us ahead of time so we may reserve a spot for you.
For the Welcome Party, we kindly ask guests to dress in Cocktail Attire. For the Wedding, the dress code is strictly Black Tie. Gentleman will be required to wear a tuxedo. Ladies will be required to wear a full-length gown. We encourage ladies to find inspiration from the romantic Italian gardens, idyllic rolling hills and golden Tuscan sunsets. Please kindly refrain from wearing black.
The two best airports to fly into are Rome and Florence. We highly recommend flying into Florence then arranging a private car to drive you directly to Siena. The drive is roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes. If flying into Rome, there are trains available to take you to Florence as well. The train ride is roughly 3 hours and you will need to take a bus or car for the remaining drive to Siena. Please coordinate with other guests attending if traveling from the same part of the country. If you plan on renting a car for the duration of your stay, please inform us so we can secure a parking spot on the grounds for you.
The weather this time of year in Tuscany is pleasant with highs of 72°F during the day and 52°F at night. Please pack transitional layers and a jacket for evenings.
For travel to Italy, U.S. citizens need a valid passport. Please double check the expiration date on your passport before booking flights. As of March 2026, the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is slated to start operations in the last quarter of 2026. Once active, U.S. citizens and other visa-exempt travelers must obtain this electronic authorization before traveling to Italy. Please visit their website directly to apply for the application. The expected fee is roughly €7-10.
